In what is becoming quite the trend for trailblazing chefs around the world, Rene Redzepi is upping sticks from his Copenhagen home to head to Mexico next for a pop-up, after similar stints in Japan and Australia. But you probably knew that already!
What you may not have known is that it isn’t too late to snag a spot at his Tulum residency which runs from April 12-May 28. Rene and his team have been busy sourcing produce and local knowledge to create an unique, original tasting menu for Noma Mexico, using only indigenous ingredients (but we wouldn’t have expected anything less of him), which the lucky few diners can enjoy in an alfresco jungle canopy setting.
Excited yet? Those booking in at a Colibri boutique hotel – a Noma Project partner hotel group – will get to snap up the last few remaining tickets for the restaurant (priced at US$600++ including drinks). Just to provide some context, Colibri Boutique Hotels are a collection of five private luxury properties in the Tulum region. They’re offering a range of packages that also include a gourmet dinner at Mi Amor restaurant by Paul Bentley, and a host of other goodies, with prices starting from US$1,550 per person for three nights (Noma tickets are priced separately). Our insider tip? Stay at the ultra-cool La Zebra, which is just footsteps from the pop-up location. Now that sounds like a gastronomic getaway if there ever was one!
